The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. A close up detail of La Resistance de 1814 (The Resistance of 1814), one of the four bas-relief sculptures on the Arc de Triomphe (de l'Etoile) in Paris, France. Sculpted by Antoine Etex, la Resistence adorns the lower section of the southwest pillar of the Arc. The Arc de Triomphe was completed in 1836 and was erected by Napoleon to proclaim the glory of France.
