Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. We had come inside Notr� Dame Cathedral from the freezing cold outside and my lens immediately fogged up. I saw these candles and took the shot despite the fogged lens. It so happened that it was perfect in that manner to give the scene an etherial glow.
